About DC Electric
What does DC Electric do?
We're a licensed residential electrical company serving homeowners across Greater Austin. The work we do most: panel upgrades, EV charger installation, diagnostics and repair, surge protection, smoke & CO detectors, lighting and design, outlets and switches, generators and transfer switches, and SPAN smart panels.
Are you licensed, bonded, and insured?
Yes. We hold a Texas Master Electrician license (#560625) and TECL #38552, and we carry bonding and insurance. Every job is permitted and inspected where the code requires it.
Do you only work on homes?
Our focus is residential — single-family homes, older Austin properties, and remodels. If you have a light-commercial or mixed-use property, give us a call and we'll tell you honestly whether it's a fit.
What areas do you serve?
Austin and the surrounding metro — Round Rock, Georgetown, Cedar Park, Leander, West Lake Hills, Pflugerville, Buda, Kyle, Dripping Springs, and more. See the full list on our Areas We Serve page.
Estimates & Pricing
How do I get a price for my project?
Request an evaluation online — it takes about 15 seconds — or call us at 512.954.4782. A licensed electrician comes to your home, looks at the actual conditions, and hands you one written, flat-rate price. You see the number before any work begins, at no added cost to decide.
How does flat-rate pricing work?
You're quoted one price for the job, agreed before we start. If the work turns out to take longer than expected, the price you approved doesn't change — there's no meter running and no surprise at the end.
Will you tell me what's wrong before charging me to fix it?
Yes. We diagnose first, explain what we found in plain English, and give you a clear course of action with the price attached. You decide whether to move forward — nothing gets done without your say-so.
Warranty & Guarantee
Do you warranty your work?
We do. All of our work is backed by a 5-year workmanship warranty, and panel replacements and upgrades carry a 10-year warranty. The equipment we install is also covered by the manufacturer's own warranty.
What is your satisfaction guarantee?
Every proposal comes with a Satisfaction Guarantee Certificate. If the quality of the work doesn't meet the standard we set, we make it right. Our goal is for you to feel as good about the job a year later as you did the day we finished.
How do I make a warranty claim?
Call us or book online — a warranty request takes well under a minute. A Lead Technician is dispatched to your home to take care of it. Keep your certificate and invoice handy and we'll have your history on file either way.
Safety & Inspections
How do you keep installations safe and to code?
Every installation is done to the National Electrical Code — that's the baseline, not the goal. Our team trains weekly, and we're manufacturer-certified by Tesla, Eaton, SPAN, Square D, Qmerit, and ChargePoint, which keeps us current on the equipment we install.
How often should my home's wiring be checked?
For most homes, every three to five years — and sooner if you notice warning signs or you've just bought an older property. A quick check now is far cheaper than what it prevents.
What signs mean I should call an electrician?
Breakers that keep tripping, outlets that are warm or discolored, a burning smell, flickering or dimming lights, buzzing, repeated bulb burnout, or power out in one room while the rest of the house is fine. Any of these is worth a look before it grows.
What's included in an electrical safety evaluation?
We offer a 28-point and a more thorough 75-point evaluation. You get documentation — photos, notes, and references — plus a prioritized list of what needs attention now versus what can wait. It's especially useful for new homeowners and homes that haven't been looked at in years.
Financing
Do you offer financing?
Yes — through GoodLeap. A soft credit check (no impact to your score) shows what you qualify for in a few minutes, with terms ranging from 3, 6, and 12 months up to 5, 10, and 15 years. See the details and get started on our Financing page.
Scheduling & Service
How do I book an appointment?
Book online any time, or call 512.954.4782 and the office will get you on the schedule. You tell us where, and we'll be there.
Are you available after hours or on weekends?
Existing customers can reach us 24/7. For everyone, online booking is open around the clock, and the office will confirm the soonest available time.
What should I do in an electrical emergency?
If you smell burning, see sparks, or feel a shock, cut power at the main breaker if you can do it safely, keep people away from the area, and call us right away at 512.954.4782. Don't try to reset a breaker that's hot to the touch.
