We improve homes.
We protect families.
We see what others miss.

DC Electric is a locally owned residential electrical company in Austin, Texas, built on a belief most of our industry has forgotten: electrical work is never just electrical work. Done right, it improves the home you live in. Done right, it protects the family inside it. Done right, it lasts.

We built this company for homeowners who are tired of being rushed, upsold, or overlooked. For homeowners who want an electrician that treats their house the way it deserves to be treated — with time, with craftsmanship, and with attention to the details most people walk right past.

We are licensed. We are insured. We are rooted here in Austin. And we were architected, from day one, to outlast any single person who ever wears our shirt.

But every institution begins as one person's conviction. So here is how ours started.

Our Story

It started with noticing.

I am Danny Haddad, and I grew up in Jordan noticing things other people did not. The loose screw. The flicker nobody else saw. The small details that, left alone, turn into real problems.

I did not know there was a name for it until years later — HSP, Highly Sensitive Person. It is a personality trait found in a small percentage of people, where the brain processes detail, pattern, and subtlety at a level most people do not. For most of my life, it made things harder. I cared too much. Wanted things too perfect. Asked questions nobody else was asking.

It turns out, that is the exact trait you want in the person wiring your home.

Engineering, hospitality, and a long road.

I grew up obsessed with how things work — taking apart devices just to understand them. That obsession carried me into a mechanical and electrical engineering program in Jordan, where I discovered something that would shape the rest of my life: I loved solving problems more than almost anything else.

Life did not stay on a straight line. I lost my father at 17 — and with him, my compass. I changed majors. I left school. I found my way into hospitality at Marriott and Hyatt, where I learned what five-star service actually means: it is not about luxury. It is about noticing.

I became a tour guide in Jordan. Then, at 30, on a yearly family visit to the United States, I met the love of my life Cheryce. I married her. And I stayed.

From Home Depot to the trade.

I could not work as a tour guide here. So I took a job in Home Depot's electrical aisle for $9 an hour. I did not know it then, but I was already home.

A customer named Robert Campton kept coming through my aisle. He was building hotels. One day he offered me an apprenticeship — $10 an hour — and I took the leap. I was 30. I was starting over. Again.

Something clicked. Electrical work rewarded exactly the way my brain worked: patient, precise, a little obsessive. I apprenticed on hotels. Then assisted living buildings. Then residential homes, where I fell in love with working directly with the people who lived in them. Then four years industrial, where I was promoted again and again — because I could not stop learning.

A weekend side job in 2018.

In 2018, I started taking on work of my own — nights and weekends, side jobs under a new name: DC Electric.

The "DC" carried two meanings. Direct Current — the renewable energy and motors I had fallen in love with. And Danny and Cheryce — the couple building something that was ours. My wife had just been let go from her job. Our son Leo had just been born. I worked harder. Not because I had to, but because I wanted to build something that could last.

For years, I took jobs only from Angi. No other platform. No marketing. No shortcuts. Just customer by customer, project by project, a reputation quietly building itself. In 2022 I went to work for Freedom Solar Energy and met Chance Reyes — a master electrician who became a close friend. Somewhere between solar projects across the country, I realized something: the part of this work that mattered most to me was not commercial, industrial, or solar. It was residential. It was the home. Because that is where electrical work actually improves someone's life.

In August 2023, Chance joined as our first full-time employee and partner. The weekend gig became a real company.

What That Company Looks Like Today

DC Electric is 6 trucks, 10 people, and still growing.

We are a locally owned residential electrical company serving Austin and the surrounding communities with master-level craftsmanship and a team trained to a single standard: notice what others miss. Every electrician on our trucks is hired for technical skill and character. Every job is built to last. Every customer gets the time it takes to understand what they actually want — not what is quickest for us to sell.

We are proud to be a pioneer installer of Span smart panels, and our team holds certifications directly from Tesla, ChargePoint, and Eaton — which means the homeowners we serve can bring the future of electrical into their homes with a team trained by the manufacturers themselves.

Where We Are Going

The American home is changing. Energy is changing. Homeowners are going to need more than an electrician in the years ahead — they are going to need a partner who understands how power is generated, stored, managed, and protected inside the place they live.

That is where we are headed. Over the next several years, DC Electric will evolve into a full-service energy management specialist — with solar becoming a core part of what we do. Smart panels. EV charging. Battery storage. Solar. Whole-home energy optimization. We are already laying the groundwork with the certifications and the training — and we are bringing our homeowners with us.

Built to Last Longer Than Any One Name

DC Electric was never built to be a personal brand. It was built to be an institution.

The values belong to the business, not to me. The training belongs to the business, not to me. The standard — notice what others miss — belongs to the business, not to me. Every electrician who joins this team inherits those values the day they put on our shirt.

If every name on the founding page left tomorrow, DC Electric would still know exactly what it stands for.

That was the plan from the start.

Why It Matters

Electrical work sits inside every wall of your home. You do not see it. You trust it.

That trust is not something we take for granted.

We improve homes.

Better lighting. Smarter panels. Cleaner power. Thoughtful upgrades that make your house actually feel better to live in.

We protect families.

Safety as our only priority. Work that passes code — and the higher standard we hold ourselves to.

We see what others miss.

The detail in the panel. The flicker on the circuit. The question no one else thought to ask. We notice, so you do not have to.

Because you deserve an electrician who notices.

Someone who shows up when they said they would. Someone who takes the extra time to do the job right. Someone who treats your home the way we would treat our own — the way my own family lives in ours.

That is DC Electric. That is the work. That is why we built this — and why we built it to outlast us all.

— Danny Haddad, Founder

Locally owned. Master trained. Detail obsessed. Built to last.
